5 Ways to Be Productive While Social Distancing

Social distancing doesn’t have to mean productivity distancing! While COVID-19 has you self-quarantining at home, there are ways to use that time to get ahead of tasks and projects you’ve been putting off for a while. From getting a jump on spring cleaning to shaking things up in the kitchen, here are some ways to use your time at home wisely.

1. Deep Clean Your Home

Running around from place-to-place makes it difficult to squeeze in time for a sanitize. While you’re home, get a jump on your spring cleaning and kill any germs or bacteria that may be hiding out in harder to reach spots. It’s a win-win for your health and your living space!

2. Sort Through Your Closet

Take this time to go through you and your family’s wardrobe. Try things on, see what fits and what doesn’t, and ditch anything that’s so 2019. Bag up the give-away clothes and keep them aside. Later, once the coronavirus dies down and it’s safe to head out, take them to a charity shop or donation center, or consider re-selling online.

3. Rearrange Your Furniture

Being cooped up for a while can help you start to see your space in a new light. If you feel like you need a little more room or just a change of scenery, feng shui your place! Look up ideas and tips on Pintrist, Houzz and other home decor blogs. Get the whole family in on it — your living room will seem brand new!

4. Try a New Recipe

If you have a folder of recipes you have yet to try out, now is your chance! Take stock of the ingredients you have and try out that one dish you just haven’t had time to get to. It’s a great way to feel like you’re eating at a restaurant without leaving your house. Make a menu and plan to make a different recipe every few days!

5. Read a Book You’ve Been Putting Off

How many times have you received a great book recommendation, but never had a second to get to it? This is your chance to dive into a person growth book or even a buzzworthy new novel. Download it as an audio book or eBook if you can’t get the physical copy. You’ll keep your mind sharp and stay entertained while at home.

As you continue to do your part to practice social distancing, you can still be productive! Give these ideas a try and shake things up while you’re at home.

Thank you Brian Buffini for this fabulous blog. Appreciate the info. I hope this helps you with some good ideas, encourages you and lifts you up a bit. We are in this together!

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

“AMAZING! Great partner for everyone involved in the entire process which is great for the clients! Rachel helped us buy our first house in 2016, and this year helped us sell it for a great profit and buy our dream home! Not only is she insanely passionate about her career (which makes her fantastic at it), she’s both sweet and hilarious to top it off. I would recommend Rachel 100% of the time for anyway that wants a nice, smooth process!”

Seller and Buyer review of Rachel Sheller

“When we decided to find a new home that we could retire to and “age in place”, we contacted Rachel Sheller.  At first we were only mulling over when and what we were thinking.  This took us a couple of years at least before we were ready to actually make the move, but Rachel was patient.

We developed a pretty long list of what we were looking for in a new home, and decided that we would find the new home, get it ready, move, prepare the old place for resale, and then put it on the market in that order.  This whole process took abut a year, but Rachel was ready to assist us at each stage.

Her knowledge of the market and legal processes was a great help in keeping us informed and preparing us for each step.  Our repeated rejection of several houses didn’t phase her in the least.  She was able to take each house rejected and use that information to refine the search for the right house.  And of course we did find that house.

Rachel had many good contacts for the professional help that we needed in inspecting the new house, arranging repairs on the old house and guiding us through the loan approval process and closing.  We certainly would recommend her for anyone who is looking to find a new home.  Her integrity, and knowledge of the local housing market along with her contacts basically provided a good clean transition into our new living arrangements.”

Thank you so much Herb & Ruth for the wonderful Testimonial about what it was like working with me. The real honor is mine to be able to help you find your dream home you can age in place in.

Housing projections for 2020 & beyond

Housing projections for 2020 & beyond

Looking into their crystal balls, real estate experts share these predictions and trends:

  • New home starts will continue to lag behind consumer demand, especially among millennials. Based on statistics from the past three years, the supply of homes will remain tight as the number of new households and demolition of run-down properties outpaces the rise in new construction.
  • While some fear an inevitable economic recession on the horizon, most economists see a stable leveling off of the housing market, but not another crash similar to 2007-2009.
  • Austin ranks No. 1 among the fastest growing cities in America. Driven primarily by tech growth, many smaller metros such as Raleigh-Durham, Indianapolis and Portland are also trending in the nation’s top 20.
  • Walkable, urban senior living condos and smaller homes are one real estate market where many predict consistent growth thanks to the health and wealth of baby boomers.
